Graphic Design Trends for 2020

Hire Us

In the past few years, there has been a design revolution – graphic design is taking over into first place when it comes to branding and advertising. Clients are adjusting the balance between digital and classical branding design only to get the best from each that allows them to grow. Let’s look at the trends we should expect to see in 2020.

Design in motion

Design in motion or animation is getting higher amongst the communication channels every day. It is a combination of animation, short film, and graphical effect in motion. These short but well-thought animations are becoming the true eye-catcher for the authors and users as they potential scroll through a busy social network.

Photography

Commercial branding photography is extremely popular in the last few years. It is so popular that the market is almost oversaturated. There are some new trends in art and style photography: beauty becomes ugly, regular becomes extravagant. Photography is becoming image-making for many. Invest in photography for your business, you never know where you might be able to use it.

Variable typography

Variable fonts, unlike standard fonts, include all sizes in one single font. The advantages are many, from the time saving to the possibility of changing styles’ preferences on the way.

Back to the roots

With many modern generic typography styles, some of the users realized the benefits of classical graphic design methods and strategies. Today, when the trends change daily, and interest in the picture (in anything for that matter) lasts a few seconds, returning to the roots of graphic design seems logical. Textures, illustrations, brush, logo, etc.

Visual identity

There is more to visual identity than just colors, typography or logo. Everything and anything can become a visual identity, and that is something authors and buyers should learn about.

Automatic preprogrammed design

Generic, programmed and procedural design becomes everyday routine for the designers. This also makes the graphic design available to a bigger number of buyers. There are computer programs that allow almost anyone to use graphic design with a little effort.

Floating objects

There seems to be an era of a floating object on its way to the graphic design. The idea is to create a floating object and logos that gives a feeling of freedom and control to the observer.

3D design

This design is present for some time now, but it will continue to play a huge roll in the graphic design world. There is a special depth of 3D pictures that affects the viewer. The companies that think about the trends and their customers, use this type of design to keep the clients interested.

Asymmetrical layouts

In the last few years, the commercials were positioned in the same way and that was mostly on the right side of the window. This will change so that commercials will no longer be positioned evenly but they will be unevenly spread over the screen.

Glitch effect

Something that used to be considered as a flow now is a trend. Glitch is a “broken” picture that is created on purpose. This effect was often used in horror movies but now it is used for commercial and other purposes.

Vivid colors

We can hold someone’s attention for a short period. To make sure this moment is effectively used we must create something impressive to create interest that will last longer than a few seconds. The vivid colors are great for attracting attention.
