As we network throughout the community, we find so many interesting and knowledgeable individuals that are on a mission to help their client. Jerry Acchione wears many hats – City Councillor and Fleet Manager at Anderson’s GM. One of Jerry’s passion projects has been Your Oxford, a social media show that promotes local events in corporation with non-profits and groups.

He along with his wife, Sarah are always out in the community to share what Oxford County has to offer. We have been fortunate enough to see Your Oxford grow from it’s infancy to now. Jerry and his wife Sarah, asked us to be a part of Your Oxford when they were creating this opportunity and it’s been a great opportunity to showcase our skills for something our community needed.

Background about your business – what you do, what you provide, how long you have been in business

Your Oxford started on September 4th, 2017.  It is a community based resource for promoting local events in co-operation with non-profit organizations and groups.  We work in partnership with local businesses as sponsors to be able to support local groups providing education and support within Oxford County.  Your Oxford started with a dream and the passion of Jerry Acchione.

Your business background – Does it run in the family? Education? History?

Jerry comes from a hard-working Italian family who have been in business for themselves for years.  He continues to learn and grow his business with continuous workshops and business courses conducted by leading business entrepreneurs.

What advice would you suggest to aspiring business owners?

Our advice for aspiring business owners would be to find a need and fulfill it to the best of your ability and with greater enthusiasm and expertise than your competition.  Work hard and consistently to better yourself, your business, your product and your customer service.

Where do you see your business in 5 years, 10 years?

Within the next five years, Your Oxford wants to be a household name, by becoming more involved as a media sponsor at the many great events in Oxford County.  Ten years from now, our goal is to provide all residents of Oxford County access to community events and information.

What has been your most successful marketing tactic?

The most successful marketing tool used by Your Oxford is Social Media!!  Word of mouth, community involvement and good reputation within the community also play a role.

Who inspired you to go into business and why?

Jerry has been inspired by people like James Corden and Jimmy Fallon, hosts who are both funny, witty and engaging with their guests.  Jerry has also been inspired and learned many great lessons in business from Dale Anderson.  Dale’s strong work ethic and business philosophies learned within a family business have provided Jerry with the tools to be successful.
