Starter Company Plus

Starter Company Plus, funded by the Government of Ontario, is a training and mentorship program for businesses. It offers support in business planning, marketing, social media, bookkeeping, and financial management, with potential funding of up to $5,000 for eligible participants.

About Starter Company Plus.

Unlock the potential of your business through Starter Company Plus. This program offers personalized, one-on-one guidance from a Small Business Enterprise Centre advisor and access to workshops, seminars, and networking events covering essential topics like business planning, budgeting, and marketing. You’ll also have the chance to connect with experienced mentors who have successfully started, expanded, or purchased businesses.

If you're 18 or older, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Ontario, and not enrolled in full-time school, you can apply. Whether you're starting a new business, growing an existing one, or buying a company, you may be eligible for a grant of up to $5,000. To qualify, you’ll need to contribute at least 25% of the grant amount, either in cash or in kind, to support your venture.

Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Be 18 years of age or older,
Not be attending school or planning to return to school while enrolled in the program
Be devoting a minimum of 35 hours per week to their small business and not employed anywhere else
Businesses less than two (2) years in age
Not be enrolled in any other government-funded employment program
You must be a local resident of the applicable city and be able to provide proof of your physical address to your local Small Business Centre.
