Christmas – 10 Ways to Market Your Business

Christmas and holiday season is just around the corner with a month left before the big day. With many of the big holidays behind us like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, even Cyber Monday – its time to turn our focus to the next big spending time of the year.

As business owners, it is arguably one of the best times of the year to promote your business. It’s a great time of year for a little extra push to meet your sales goals.

Here’s a some Christmas or holiday ideas will help add a little sparkle to the season.

  • Offer gift certificates or receipts. This is a great opportunity to offer deals, package complimentary products or services into a trial that would allow someone new to try what you have to offer.
  • E-Christmas Cards is a way to remind people that you are still here. Use this as a year-end thank you for their support through out the year.
  • Film a funny, festive video is a great way to connect and show that there is a person behind your business. It’s a great way to introduce your team or remind your customers about a new product or promotion.
  • Offer holiday gift baskets or combinations is a great way to turn over your inventory of older products but also providing your customers an option for those ‘hard to buy for’ family members. This is also a great opportunity for a hostess gift.
  • If it’s in your budget, donate money to a great community cause. This could be dedicating a day in December that you could share with your customers that a percentage will be donated.
  • There’s no one with a great following than Santa Claus. Invite Santa Claus to your store or business to attract families or a great opportunity for an employee Christmas party.
  • Offering in store gift wrapping is a nice value added service you can offer whether you are a retail location of online. You can offer it as an extra service or a complimentary add on. There will always be someone that can’t manage to make perfect corners!
  • Have a kids corner is a great way that allows any parent shopping with children to look around the store without completely having their children in toy. You could have a craft, cookie decorating or hot chocolate corner that would give a parent a chance to look around.
  • If you are a local retail location, offer gift delivery. Even if you don’t normally offer delivery, you can offer shipping or personally delivered gifts for busy customers during the holiday season. Again this could be an extra service or a free offering. Also, see what your local BIA has running during the holidays.
  • Prepare your calendar. Create a holiday social media calendar well in advance of the holiday season. You want to have time to prepare not only your store but your social media with seasonal content while giving everyone enough time to cash in any offers you decide.
