In April, 1960 the Canadian Power Squadrons granted a Warrant establishing the Kitchener-Waterloo Power & Sail Squadron and two years later Galt, now Cambridge, followed making the two squadrons eligible by 2012 to fly their burgees with a Gold stripe at the hoist signifying 50 years of teaching safe boating. In Cambridge merged with K-W and the squadron was renamed Grand River. A new burgee was designed to reflect the Heritage River which runs through both communities.
Like most non-profits, Grand River needs a website presence that reflected the safe boating mission that they fulfill all while being on a budget. A website and new logo was created in order to appeal the new demographic that they were trying to reach. This site included course/event registration, directory of their bridge as well as the courses that they offer.
