search engine Optimization

Being good at what you do isn’t enough if nobody can find you. I help small businesses show up when people nearby are searching for exactly what they offer.

search engine optimization or SEO helps drive traffic to your website

Your website should do more than exist — it should get found

Most small businesses I work with don't need to rank nationally. They need to show up when someone twenty minutes away searches for what they do. That means local SEO: your Google Business Profile, your directory listings, your reviews, and pages on your site built around the places and services you actually serve. I've been doing this for small businesses across Oxford, Brant, and Norfolk County since 2016. Whether you're starting from nothing or fixing a site that never got set up properly, we'll work out what's actually holding you back before spending money on anything.

What's included in Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

  • A full audit of what’s currently working and what isn’t
  • Keyword research based on what people in your area actually search
  • On-page SEO — titles, headings, descriptions, structure, internal links
  • Technical SEO — site speed, mobile performance, crawlability
  • Google Business Profile setup and optimization
  • Local citations and directory listings with consistent business information
  • Analytics and Search Console setup so results are measurable
  • Monthly reporting in plain language, not a wall of charts

Expect early movement in 2–3 months and meaningful results in 6–12. Anyone promising results in weeks is either doing something risky or selling you something else. Local SEO tends to move faster than competitive broad rankings, which is part of why it’s usually where I start.

No — and be careful with anyone who does. Nobody controls Google’s results, and guarantees are usually built on keywords so obscure that ranking for them brings no business. What I can commit to is the work that reliably improves rankings, and clear monthly reporting so you can see exactly what’s changing.

Local SEO targets people searching for a business near them; regular SEO targets searches where location doesn’t matter. Local work focuses on your Google Business Profile, directory listings, reviews, and location-specific pages. For most small businesses serving a defined area, local SEO delivers far more value.

Yes, and it’s usually the first thing I look at. For a local business, the Business Profile often drives more calls than the website does — it decides whether you appear in the map results above the regular listings. That means categories, service listings, photos, posts, and reviews, not just filling in an address.

Foundational SEO is included in every site I build — proper page titles, headings, descriptions, fast loading, mobile layout, and clean structure. That’s the groundwork, not a ranking campaign. Competing for specific search terms is ongoing work, and it’s a separate service.
